Hello, I'm Margaret
I have a passion for finding visual beauty in both tiny and enormous things. The tiniest of humans, the small nuances of expression that pass between us, the enormous gravity of what the connections between us mean.
Based out of Hardwick, I call the magical Northeast Kingdom of Vermont home. I have two wild, willful, wonderful boys (who are obsessively over-documented).
I am photographer, an educator, and above all- a witness to the magic here on earth.

My Education
I have a degree in Art Education from the University of Montana. My specialty for that degree was painting, which was a continuation of a lifelong passion. While there, I also had opportunities to shoot film and develop it myself in a darkroom; the magic of which will always stay with me.
During this time, and before and since, I developed a great deal of knowledge about composition, color, and other elements of visual design. I carry forward that knowledge, and my painterly sensibility, into my photographic portrait work.
My Photographic Style
I aim to create artistic works that describe you and your family honestly, candidly, beautifully. I take hundreds of photos per session to ensure that I can find ones that capture the genuine connection and flow between you. My editing process is careful and uses the years I was in art school and a fine art watercolorist- to craft final images that are worthy of being displayed in your home for years to come.
My Areas of Specialty
I specialize in family photography portrait sessions. That said, I love and have ample experience photographing maternity sessions, senior sessions, and lifestyle newborn sessions.
