Seeing Painterly Light & Color

These 1:1 mentorship sessions are designed for photographers who are trying to refine a painterly style and want to better understand light, color, and painterly editing in their work; not just apply a look, but learn how to see more clearly.

During our session, we’ll meet over Zoom with screen sharing. I’ll walk through your images together with you, analyzing the light in the scene, discussing color dynamics, and editing a few of your photos in real time. I’ll also edit one of my own images so you can see how I approach decision-making from start to finish.

This is a conversational, personalized session; there’s no set curriculum. We’ll focus on what feels most relevant to where you are right now.

What’s included:

• 60–75 minute 1:1 Zoom call
• Light and color analysis of your images
• Live editing (2–3 of your images, plus 1 of mine)
• Screen sharing with explanation throughout
• Recording permitted

Please note: I’ll be editing during our session using my own presets. While presets are not required for mentorship, many photographers find it helpful to work with the same tools I’m using so the concepts translate more easily afterward.

For that reason, my preset pack is available as an optional add-on for mentees at a reduced rate. This is entirely optional, but it does allow us to spend less time troubleshooting and more time focusing on light, color, and consistency.
